Note: It is now bow hunting season at Loch Raven. Hunters should be respected, as they help control the deer population in the area and reduce the possibility of vehicle collisions. View the map to see safe hiking and biking zones. In order to alert hunters of your presence, bright colors should be worn at all times. The season runs from September 15h to January 31st.

Loch Raven Reservoir is one of the most pristine outdoor locations in the Baltimore metropolitan area, with resplendent plants and wildlife and beautiful water vistas, where visitors can enjoy miles of hiking trails that wind their way along the banks of the reservoir. Hikers can expect to see a wide variety of birds, including ravens, cardinals, blue jays, woodpeckers, and even bald eagles, as well as a lush and varied array of plants and trees, including oaks, beeches, maples, poplars, raspberries, and wild roses.
